My musical success does not make sense to the flesh - Fuse ODG

Many musicians worldwide have had to go through several challenges in their career before making it to mainstream and perhaps becoming successful but same cannot be said of Ghanaian UK based musician and pioneer of the This Is New Africa #TINA movement Richard Abeona known widely asFuse ODG who’s achievements are beyond his own imagination. A feat many would wish to achieve.

The world’s attention was drawn to Fuse ODG, a member of the “Off Da Ground Movement” after the release of his hit single Azonto and has since then not slept on this great song writer.

In an interview with NY DJ on Homestretch Bumper to Bumper on Kapital Radio in Kumasi, Fuse ODG stated he often got lost in his own thoughts anytime he looked back at the successes and what the future holds for him.

“There’s no way I could have come this way without my creator. God is involved in everything we have achieved. God has been so merciful to us and continues to grant us all the desires of our heart. My successes in terms of my hit singles don’t not make sense to the flesh. There is a spiritual force behind us which is God….. Of course, I may say I work hard but that does not make up. I just don’t even understand”

Fuse ODG for the past 2 years has been nominated and won several awards and recognitions worldwide. He scored one of the greatest feats as for the first time Antenna charted in the UK and marked the highest charting Afrobeats tune till now.

He was also the first African act to ever perform at the Music of Black Origin Awards MOBO where he won the MOBO award for Best African Act, won several awards at the urban music awards in the UK and also an award at the Ghana Music Awards.

Fuse ODG described 2013 as his craziest year yet in his musical year.

Efya beats good lyrics into ‘Forgetting Me’

The last time we enjoyed a lovely ballad from Efyawas when she surprised us with ‘this is not the’ (T.I.N.T) Album.

Instantly, she told us that the tracks that will succeed will be masterpieces and brilliant tunes that will keep us in her fold.

‘Forgetting Me’, released last week Saturday amidst a live performing session introduced us to a different Efya as we patiently wait for the “Love Genesis”.

Eclectically produced to suit her voice, she lays her vocals bidding her time to burst into a lovely tune.

Selling a lover’s fond memories of a lost one, she tries to resurrect the feelings that brought them together the first time and if there is any chance of a comeback.

The One Nation crooner takes her time to deliver a performance that will surely land her an award this year.

Yvonne Nelson abuses journalists, says they have lost their state of minds

Actress Yvonne Nelson says she cannot believe a section of Ghanaians has taken interest in a hoax that reported she and Apostle Kwadwo Safo were using a particular cream to bleach themselves.

“I am shocked people actually believe such a strange story about me. The writer quoted a press statement they claim I have issued to explain that I had a deal to become ‘Face of Queen Elizabeth Cocoa Butter’ and as part of the contract, I was given a lifetime supply of the body cream and that for three years I have used these Cocoa Butter to enhance my natural complexion rather than bleach it. This is not true. It is a lie. I have never issued such a statement and I don’t use Cocoa Butter. People should leave my skin alone,” Yvonne told News-One.

Yvonne could, however, not tell why the media had been accusing her of bleaching her skin.

“I do not write the stories so I can’t answer for them. Maybe you should be asking the writers whether they have a report from a dermatologist that has diagnosed me of skin bleaching. They have made up their minds that I bleach and they are lost in that state of mental deception. Sometimes you feed your mind with an untruth and believe the untruth so much that you even start to think it is true,” Yvonne noted.

She continued: “I have always explained that as an actress I take different pictures under different shade of light and with different makeup depending on what the picture would be used for. It is therefore not strange to find different pictures of me looking different. It does not mean bleaching and one does not need to be an industry player to know this.

“Even in movies, depending on who the director is, there are different lighting angles and brightness levels that can be used to make a character look different and this is no secret. Even a change of weather can have an effect on one’s skin…I fully understand the dangers of skin bleaching and would not engage in any such venture. I am a lady and I appreciate my God-given looks.”

City Invasion concert accident victims ignored by Rabotec

According to sources, NMJ Ghana, organizers of the City Invasion Tamale concert which featured J Martins, Selebobo, Itz Tiffany, Bisa K’Dei and others is having a tussle with Rebotec, a car company which drove crew members to Tamale for the concert.

On their return to Accra, the bus carrying the crew was overturned on the Nsawam road due to reckless driving resulting in the hospitalization of several of the passenger with varying degrees of injuries.

Sources say Rabotec is treating the incident as just another accident, failing to take responsibility for the driver’s careless driving.

Rabotec has shown no interest in supporting accident victims, with the excuse that their insurance would cover the incident.

In an even more insensitive move, Rabotec went ahead to cash a post-dated cheque in spite of a request by NMJ Ghana to hold on to cashing the money since, the accident victims were being taking care of with funds from that account.Raboteckill
