Barima Sydney speaks about Mahama’s “Donkomi” video

44841070
Over the week, there were rumours that controversial hiplife musician, Barima Sydney, had been invited by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) over the use of President John Mahama’s image in his latest video clip which was yet to be released.
In a chat with Sydney, he told Flex newspaper that the official video of the music was not out, but rather they had taken a few seconds of the span of the video, to show it to critics through Whatsapp and other social media platform so they could take the critics view on it before its official release.
He said after they shared the short music video with friends, he saw an article by the ‘Herald’ and ‘The informer’ newspapers that, he had been invited by BNI and national security.
He lamented that from a close source, he fathomed that the article the newspapers did was a calculated attempt to influence the BNI and National security to call him so they could frustrate him from coming out with the official video and music.
In the video of the of the ‘Donkomi’ song, the President impressively dressed in fine ‘fugu’ with Barima Sydney, sitting beside him at the Flagstaff House, asking him probing questions about what people are saying on the streets of Accra concerning the allegations of corruption under his watch.
He stated that the song is just a wake – up call on the president and they are basically things that have already happened and things that people are saying on the street including some of the answers that the president has already given.
He cleared allegations he’s a member of the NPP: “I have never come out to say I will always rally behind Nana Addo or NPP. What I said in 2012 was that I personally thought Nana Addo’s messages made lots of sense to me than John Mahama’s. Nana Addo was preaching free education while Mahama was preaching ‘Ede bee Keke.’”
“In 2008, I did a song titled ‘Oga Dey Chop Am’ ‘Chanfu Chanfu’ and people said I was an NDC affiliate, so to me I think Ghanaians will always talk against some of us who want to do social and political music, to help the society,” he added.

I Am The Next Nelson Mandela – Kanye West

(DAILY CURRANT) Kanye West is under fire today for claiming that he will soon be a bigger cultural and civil rights icon than Nelson Mandela.
In an interview with WGCI radio in Chicago, the notoriously self-promoting rapper said that yesterday’s death of the 95-year-old South African leader will finally allow people to focus more of their attention on West’s own accomplishments.
In the studio to promote his new music video Bound 2, the conversation soon turned to the day’s biggest news out of South Africa. West was asked who he thought on the world stage today could possibly replace Nelson Mandela in terms of leadership, and his unconventional answer left heads spinning.
“I am the next Nelson Mandela,” West responded. “I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense. By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was.
“Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don’t get me wrong. But I think I’m on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That’s more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever.
“Not to say Mandela wasn’t for real. I have mad respect. I just think we need to keep things in perspective here. Anyone can be replaced. And I think I’m well on my way towards being the next great black leader. I’m already worshiped around the world. And there’s more to come.”
Watch the Throne
Former South African president and anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela died on Thursday after years of declining health. His legacy of peaceful reconciliation has been universally praised by political leaders, the media and ordinary citizens around the world.
Kanye West, for his part, is known for going to extraordinary lengths to focus attention on himself. His reaction today was so unusual, however, that host Adrian Cronauer decided to challenge his assertions.
“What have you actually done for civil rights?” he asked. “Have you been involved in any campaigns? Any political activities? It seems to me comparing yourself to Mandela is a bit of a stretch.”
“I’ve blazed a trail with my career,” West responded. “I faced immeasurable racism when I entered this profession. I mean how many black rappers can you name that came before me? I was a pioneer. And now I’m doing the same thing in the fashion world.
“Not to mention I have a bigger market than he ever did. Mandela was working in South Africa, which has, like what, six people? I started my magic here in the USA and then I took my business global. Worldwide baby.

U.S Coach Has Condemn Ghana Black Stars

United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann described his team's World Cup draw as "the worst of the worst" after it was pooled with Germany, Portugal and Ghana in one of two "Groups of Death."

Klinsmann could scarcely believe his ill fortune after the draw was made in Bahia, Brazil, with the Americans lumped into Group G and a situation that immediately installed them as long shots to reach the last 16.

To add to his discomfort, Klinsmann's side also have to battle a grueling travel schedule, including a visit to the Amazonian jungle city of Manaus with its extreme humidity and hostile weather environment.

"It is one of the most difficult groups of the whole draw," Klinsmann said. "It couldn't get any more difficult or any bigger but that is what the World Cup is all about.

"We are looking forward to the challenge and we don't see ourselves as any kind of outsiders. If you want to get into the top 10 or 12 teams in the world you have to beat these guys.

"We discussed before the draw that there could be some difficult schedules and we hit the worst of the worst. Every coach said, 'Anything but Manaus' and we got Manaus."

Germany is one of the strongest teams in the tournament and reached the semifinal in 2010, while Portugal will be led by Cristiano Ronaldo, currently the world's best and most dominant player.

Supposedly the weakest opponent, Ghana, eliminated the U.S. at the round of 16 stage four years ago. The Ghanaians also ended the Americans' 2006 World Cup with a victory in the teams' final group game.

"After two losses, it's about time to beat them, I guess," Klinsmann said.

The Ghana matchup will be the first for the U.S. and is scheduled for Natal on November 16. Portugal follows in Manaus six days later before group action ends against Germany in Recife on June 26.

"I kind of had a feeling in my stomach that we were going to get Germany," said Klinsmann, who starred for the West Germany national team as it won the 1990 World Cup and later led the German side to the 2006 semifinals on home soil.

The "other" Group of Death is Group B where 2010 finalists Spain and the Netherlands square off in the opening match. Host nation Brazil kicks off the tournament against Croatia in Sao Paulo on June 12.

When Shata Wale BANDANA GETS GREEDY

The release of Dancehall king and enter the net recently the hottest songs in Ghana right now have made Shata Wale Bandana one of the most sort out Ghanaian artists. Almost every show has his name on it and as has been the tradition among Ghanaian musicians, they do as many shows as possible to save money for the coming years when their fame will no longer be the center of attention in the industry. However it’s preposterous to hear artist charge as much as ₵300,000,000 for a show. And what’s even worse is when the artist demands for payment for a show even when the show did not take place. It is alleged that SHATA WALE BANDANA is headed to court to demand for ₵150,000,000 an event that did not take place in November.
Shata Wale Bandana is demanding ₵150,000,000 from the event organizer for a show that did not even take place. According to our source, Shata Wale and the Mamprobi Police, have earlier arrested the event organizer and demanded ₵300,000,000 before his release. The amount was later reduced to ₵150,000,000. The student event organizer who was released on court bail according to our sources, pleaded with SHATA WALE so that the show continues, that way they can raise the money to pay him. Shata Wale refused and asked to be paid that amount else he will take the matter to court.
A source close to the event organizer told Flex newspaper that, they were still in talks with Shata Wale’s management when the arrest was instigated. According to our source, the organizing team decided to go ahead with publicity of the show with the hope that they will raise enough money to pay Shata Wale. Two days before the event the police officer whose name was given as Bruce Nana-Atta impersonated a fan in need of 50 tickets for the show. When the organizer showed up with the tickets he was arrested and released on court bail the following day. The show has since been canceled, but Shata Wale insists he wants his money.
This shows how greedy an artist can be and be in gathering his worth in desperate times. Shata Wale is known for his impudence and rogue lifestyle which is attractive to the youth, but greed is a vice that is yet to be added to his long list of transgressions. Some sources also alleged that these actions are not necessarily the will of Shata wale but people around him who wish to take advantage of his fame to accrue money. Whether Shata wale is right or wrong in his recent action we leave the judgment to the public. All efforts to contact Shata’s management for a response has been fruitless.
